LGT Ducted wind turbine, transmission and modular generator system. The LGT next generation wind turbine is an entire new concept from the ground up incorporating ground breaking designs that have produced an enormous step forward in energy efficiency, $/kW, operating costs, logistics & installation costs, environmental issues and electrical systems. We have been working on the designs and concept for three years and are reaching the end of an intensive Computer Fluid Dynamics programme before shortly moving into the wind tunnel.
The LGT turbine incorporates an entire new philosophy for wind energy and has revolutionised the technology, performance and reliability to produce 2.5 times the output of a current wind turbine and in a wind farm environment requires a tenth of the area. These benefits combined with a lower purchase/production cost, greater operation parameters such as a lower cut in speed and higher wind speed capability and the ability to be used in new markets such as on high-rise buildings or even ships emphasises the real world potential of the system.
